About Kimberly Caldwell

Kimberly Caldwell is a singer and television host born in Katy, Texas, in 1982. She was a stage kid almost from the start: she first sang publicly at age five, won the junior vocalist title on Star Search five times, and performed at the Grand Ole Opry. In 1995 she sang at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of former President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

Caldwell became known nationally on the second season of American Idol in 2003. She auditioned in Austin with Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," earned her Top 12 spot through the wild-card round, and finished seventh. After Idol she built a television career as a host and entertainment correspondent, including several years covering the show itself on the TV Guide Network.

As a recording artist she released her debut album Without Regret in April 2011, led by the single "Desperate Girls & Stupid Boys." She remains one of the most widely known performers to come out of Katy.
