Robert Glasper is a Grammy-winning pianist, producer, and bandleader born in Houston in 1978. He trained at Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before studying at the New School in New York.
Glasper is known for dissolving the lines between jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, most famously with his Black Radio album series. "Black Radio" won the 2013 Grammy for Best R&B Album, and "Black Radio III" won the same award a decade later. He has won five Grammy Awards in all.
He has worked with a wide range of artists across genres, including Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Common, and Mac Miller.
