Matt Mercado is a young Texas country singer-songwriter from Waller, Texas, where he grew up around ranch life and has been riding horses since he was two years old. He graduated from high school at fifteen.
At sixteen he competed on NBC's The Voice, advancing through two rounds of competition. Invited to return for another round, he turned it down and chose to pursue a career as a Nashville singer and songwriter instead. He travels to Nashville to write with veteran songwriters including Roger Springer and Lenny Holmes.
His bilingual songwriting drives songs such as "I Should've Never Left Mexico," which he co-wrote and recorded. He fronts Matt Mercado and the Texas Hands and continues to release music, including "You Ain't Seen Lovin' Yet" and "A Cowboy Like Me."
